Vertical Ice Climbing Enthusiasts (VICE) is a non-profit group of climbers and mountaineers dedicated to promoting safe adventures in the outdoors. Our resources are currently used for organizing trips, coordinating events, preparing novice climbers, and building a stronger community of outdoor adventure enthusiasts.

VICE works closely with Tufts Mountain Club (TMC) and has extensive experience with organizing successful outdoor events at the TMC ‘Loj’ in Woodstock, New Hampshire. The annual Presidential Ridge Relay Race (PRRR) brings approximately 200 students and alumni from more than 15 colleges to Woodstock for a race in the mountains. The January 2010 ‘Vice’ Festival hosted over 70 climbers at the Tufts Loj for a weekend of slide-shows, movies, speakers, gear demos, and outdoor adventures centered on ice climbing and winter mountaineering. Over the last four years, VICE and TMC have built a network of connections amongst local businesses and retailers. Our exceptional reputation for orchestrating unique outdoor events has attracted hundreds of excited participants. These appreciative individuals often enroll in multiple VICE activities and training sessions, which allow them to develop essential outdoor skill sets and team solidarity.

VICE is a highly organized and incredibly productive team. We use a powerful online system that facilitates sharing of important documents, synchronizing calendars, posting updates, and distributing information. VICE maintains a strong base of financial and promotional support in the Boston area. Our events are well attended by members of local environmental groups, outdoor organizations, and college students.
