Echo Crag

VICE discovered Echo Crag in the early days of the 2008-2009 winter season. Echo quickly gained favor for its proximity to Lincoln and its negligible approach. We had a great time experimenting on top rope and practicing on short lead climbs.

There are two climbing areas associated with Echo. The road cuts along the side road of exit 34C offer a number of fun and challenging routes. Be aware of crumbling rock, weak tree anchors, and fascinated spectators. The second climbing area is the actual crag, which is hidden away in the woods. A short walk along a marked trail provides easy access to exciting mixed routes and ice climbs. The ice may be thin in certain sections of this south-facing wall and top-roping is discouraged so bring short screws and rock gear to enjoy all the high quality climbing this local area has to offer.
